Cedar Brook’s school program brings together students of all ages and levels of experience, offering them the opportunity to learn to ride and work on horsemanship skills alongside some of the most capable hands in the business. Five well-trained horses and three instructors share their expertise with students seven days a week. Students can expand their experience in a variety of wayseverything from leasing one of the farm’s horses to showing in competitions to participating in CBF’s summer camps.
The horse shows give students confidence and a venue to show off what they’ve learned and the summer camp is a dream come true for many a young rider. “The kids really enjoy the summer camps. They have the whole day to spend with the horses, and they have a blast doing everything from riding bareback and competing in a week-end horseshow to swimming and playing games,”says Amy Olszewski, long time CBF instructor and boarder. A guidance counselor at Branford High by day, Amy infuses her “part-time” work at Cedar Brook Farm with amazing commitment, knowledge, and good cheer.
